Maps have been used for travelers who are looking to make their way through places that they aren't fully familiar with. However, they can be outdated and tough to carry around. Because no wires are going to be used through Bluetooth technology in both the receiver and the device the slot can be used for other things. This includes storing maps and various different software programs that can be useful for navigation purposes.

Depending on the program that is used other features can be present on a Bluetooth receiver. This includes information on points of interest on the roads, detailed maps of urban areas and recalculation services on routes.
