TomTom GPS Navigation Devices – Including the All New Navigator

TomTom GPS devices are among the best in the global positioning system product world. The group has created all kinds of great devices and products, including products like the CityMaps and Route Planner and the Smartpath City and Trips programs. Its GPS devices are its most notable products, ranging from its early works to the Navigator, its newest product.

Formed in Amsterdam in 1991, TomTom has worked to develop devices and programs that can be used in travel. Map software like CityMaps were among its first products. This software became popular for cell phones and other portable media devices.

There were two basic TomTom GPS devices for receiving data for GPS products. The wired mouse was one of them. It works with vehicles and must be connected to a cigarette lighter or other electrical output device in the car. The Bluetooth GPS product, on the other hand, can be used in a device that has Bluetooth capability. Bluetooth expansion cards would be needed in some cases.

The TomTom Navigator is the latest in the world of GPS devices from the company. This has some of the best features among all GPS products that are on the market right now. Voice navigation is a great feature that helps to tell drivers where they are going and prompts on what to do next for traveling.

Trip re-routing is another of the features used in the TomTom Navigator. This helps to get new routes developed for each destination. This is useful for those who are on longer trips that involve multiple destinations. Instead of having to enter in specific locations that one is located at the user will have the Navigator identify the location specifically.

Information on specific points of interest, including restaurants, hotels and various other stops along the way can be provided through the data that the TomTom Navigator uses. Highly detailed street map information is also featured here. This allows for street level views of roads in all sorts of places, especially crowded urban areas. Of course, not all points of interest will be listed. The second release of the Navigator will not only have updated information but also data on addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of these points.

GPS status and setup is also available with this product. Users can turn off speaker prompts if needed too.

The screen on the TomTom Navigator will not rotate as the car moves around. This means that it will be easier to get a specific idea of where to go without any confusion. Also, prompts on where to go are made easy through the Navigator. Red highlights will be on the road the user is on and a green arrow will point the user to the specific area that should be traveled on next.

A compass is also included on the Navigator. Recalculations of routes can be created with ease as well. It takes about five to ten seconds to recreate a route. This is an improvement over the Destinator's thirty second time.

Those are the features of the Navigator, one of the top TomTom GPS devices on the market. This not only cements TomTom's status as a great group for GPS services but it also makes it easier for one to travel.
